My grandparents' surnames: Aleotti, Carraro, Melendez, Monti

My ancestors

These pages provide the results of my genealogical research and describe the method used in gathering and documenting the information. Due to the fact that my research found relatives in Argentina who emigrated in the early 1900s, and also confirmed the Spanish origin of the surname of my maternal grandfather, Melendez, I am posting my research in English to allow for maximum readability. I hope one day to be contacted by decendants of Joseph Miguel Melendez, who appears to be my 4th great grandfather. Except that regarding my parents these pages do not contain information regarding living persons with respect to their privacy.

Beginning My Research

There were many reasons why I began my genealogical research. I knew it could be a long and tedious task. However, I desired to further studies my father had started. I was also motived by curiosity and by my innate pleasure in doing research.

Some heraldry notes

In this revision I have inserted some researches, found in my father’s archives, about Monti in heraldry, researches that didn’t show any nobiliary origin of my ancestors. But research goes on even if Philippe the Beau won’t be my ancestor.
